A beautiful Bea for a beautiful time of year ...

Bea is a gorgeous bear made from a beautiful dense and longpile faux fur in a mix of pink and white, a bit like a marshmallow! She has been in the making for quite some time but luckily the half-term holiday meant that I could spend some time on her.

I rarely make bears using synthetic fur as it causes me such trouble but I gave in when I was searching through my fur collection and came across this. It is so soft to the touch and it almost makes you forget how messy it can be when sewing. I have enjoyed, yet again, creating the outfit which is testing my new crochet skills to the limit! I completed the dress and wanted to add something a little extra, like a bow, and I found this fantastic e-book for my Kindle. It was a bargain and the instructions were so simple to follow:

My only problem now is what to do next. I have started one of my mini bears but I think that I need to do some ordering. I have got some more synthetic but I don't know if I'm brave enough!!!

Joy is a mere 14 cms tall and she is made using a beautiful sparse miniature longpile synthetic. She is my most recent design and the first in a small series of dressed mini bears. Pattern Making

Earlier on today, I started on the outfit for my latest bear. I decided to revamp my pattern layout and convert as PDF. I am pretty pleased with it and I'm even considering putting it on ETSY. I'll work it through first just to see if it needs any tweaking. I've also had an idea how to use this to help me with the girl's outfits.

Cooper and Nell make their debut ...

I've spent the evening designing a new blog banner which is finally finished. I've chose Cooper and Nell as my lead bears as they are amongst my most recent and are more representative of my new bears for the coming year. I hope you like my new banner. It took hours!

Cooper is one of my smaller antique style bears. I spent ages designing and making his outfit so I hope that you like it. I think he is going to be the first in a new series of bears as I love the size and style of him. I want to design an outfit for a matching girl bear but that will take some time. The sparse mohair, I love and I've just ordered some similar mohair in a sage green and ivory so look out for these. I'm also working on creating some little beanie style hats to accompany them. I've created some vintage style 'Love Me' tags to go with this series too.

I'm also loving the new light tent that I've just bought although I would like to find a white backing to go with it. The pictures are so much clearer!
